The showcase dedicated to grounds care equipment takes place against a backdrop of growing participation in gardening. More than 200 manufacturers are expected in Bologna, offering a range designed to meet the needs of both amateur and professional users. The new Green Workshop Area will host conferences and business meetings.
Gardening is a social phenomenon involving an increasingly broad cross-section of the Italian population. A survey conducted in 2025 by market research company GFK indicates that 64% of Italians tend plants not only on balconies and terraces, but also in gardens and urban vegetable plots. Other studies have highlighted the therapeutic benefits of gardening and its aesthetic role in enhancing private spaces and the wider landscape, including urban areas. Green spaces are therefore gaining increasing social importance, extending into the public sphere. This is driving greater investment in machinery, which must evolve in terms of both technology and equipment types to meet new requirements for creating and maintaining green spaces. Demand for gardening machinery and equipment – notes FederUnacoma, the Italian Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Federation and direct organiser of EIMA International – is increasingly focused on automated equipment, digitalisation and battery electric power.
It is against this backdrop that EIMA Green takes place as one of the seven themed showcases at EIMA International, the world exhibition of machinery, equipment and components for agriculture and grounds care, scheduled in Bologna from Tuesday 10 to Saturday 14 November. Covering a total area of 10,200 square metres in Halls 34 and 35, EIMA Green brings together more than 200 manufacturers, including 95 from abroad, presenting the latest solutions for maintaining public and private green spaces to the exhibition’s extensive audience. From lawnmowers and chainsaws to hedge trimmers, EIMA Green offers a comprehensive range of machinery and equipment designed for both professional users and the large amateur gardening market.
In Hall 34, the organisers at FederUnacoma have created the Green Workshop Area, which includes a space reserved exclusively for business-to-business meetings between exhibiting manufacturers in the sector and Italian and international operators nominated by the manufacturers themselves. The Green Workshop Area also includes a conference room that will host the themed events scheduled as part of EIMA Green. Conferences confirmed so far include “Circular value: turning grass clippings and pruning residues from waste into a resource for local communities” (10 November at 3:30 p.m.), promoted by FederUnacoma, CREA, Coldiretti, Comagarden, Assofloro and Itabia; “EVA – Energy, Green Spaces, Environment” (11 November 2026 at 11:30 a.m.), promoted by FederUnacoma and Assoverde in collaboration with CREA; and “Regenerative agriculture and carbon farming: opportunity or pipe dream? The transition from voluntary certification schemes to evolving regulations”.
In addition to the indoor exhibition space, the grounds care showcase includes an outdoor area between Halls 35 and 37 called Garden E-motion. This area will feature an evocative recreation of a private garden, where influencer Stefano Accorsi will provide technical insights into the correct use of some of the main types of grounds care equipment, following a daily programme currently being finalised.
