IDMA Opens Domestic Grain And Feed Processing Industry

IDMA is expanding to Southeast Asia, where demand for grain-based products is on a dramatic upward trend. IDMA, the world’s largest international exhibition in the flour, grain and feed production technologies industry, will meet its visitors in the capital Jakarta on October 4-6, 2023 in cooperation with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN). IDMA Indonesia, which will introduce the Southeast Asia region to local manufacturers of some of the world’s best milling machinery and equipment technologies, will provide a unique platform for exhibitors and visitors to discover revolutionary innovations in the industry build strategic alliances and capitalize on opportunities in the regional market.

We want to increase efficiency by using technological innovations in food processing

Climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war have highlighted the importance of food security and sustainable production globally. This is even more important for Southeast Asian countries, which are dependent on imports for many grain products. The rapid population growth in Southeast Asian countries, whose population is now approaching 700 million, is expected to increase food demand by 40 percent by 2050 in this 10-country region. The FAO-OECD Agricultural Outlook 2023-2032 Report, released in early July, also reveals that Asian countries will lead the increase in cereal demand. According to the report, global cereal use, which is 2.8 billion tons, will increase to 3.1 billion tons in 10 years and almost half of the projected increase in demand will come from Asia, especially Southeast Asian countries (ASEAN).

Although rice is the staple food in the region, demand for wheat and corn has been increasing in recent years. Southeast Asia’s bakery products market size is expected to grow to 15 billion dollars within 5 years. Therefore, ASEAN countries want to increase grain production on the one hand and increase productivity by using technological innovations in food processing on the other. Therefore, with its growing population and strong economic growth prospects, Southeast Asia offers a high potential for Turkey’s grain processing industry.

Opportunity to Expand into ASEAN Region

Indonesia, the largest country in the region, will host IDMA Indonesia Exhibition to realize this high potential. The fair, which will open its doors in the capital Jakarta on October 4-6, 2023, will reshape the future of the grain processing industry. Opening the doors of the Southeast Asia region to Turkish manufacturers, which are among the world’s top milling machinery and equipment manufacturers, IDMA Indonesia will be a unique platform for exhibitors and visitors to discover revolutionary technologies, build strategic alliances and take advantage of opportunities in Indonesia and the wider regional market. Blending innovation with tradition, the exhibition will increase the market reach of companies supplying technology in flour, paddy, corn processing and brands operating in noodle, pasta, biscuit and feed production.
