Fogponic Modules with high practical relevance impressed expert jury – winners of the final round with five nominees – awards ceremony in Hanover at Agritechnica. (DLG). Lite + Fog GmbH from Berlin is the winner of the DLG Impulse Pitches 2023. The start-up company won the final round of live pitches, held on 15 November. The live presentations by the nominees, five pioneers, took place at the “Inhouse Farming – Feed & Food Show” of the DLG (German Agricultural Society) as part of Agritechnica 2023 in Hanover, Germany. Lite + Fog presented its innovation, the Fogponic Modules, to a trade audience and convinced the jury of experts. In addition to the depth of innovation and practical relevance, the aspects of economic efficiency and improvement of the environmental and energy situation were also decisive for the win.
A jury of experts selected five nominees in advance from numerous international applications and based on strict selection criteria. As part of the final round in Hanover, the pioneers presented their innovations in the form of short presentations (“Impulse Pitches”). Each participant had the chance to convince the expert commission of their innovative product or concept in a ten-minute presentation followed by a five-minute discussion round.
The jury of experts
The international jury consisted of seven renowned experts from research, education, industry and practice. It is chaired by Christopher Nigischer, consider it GmbH (Germany), and vice-chaired by Prof Katharina Riehn, Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany). Other jury members are: Adrian Feiler, Bundesverband Aquakultur e.V. (Germany); Michael Gusko, Zero1 Health GmbH (Austria); Kristal Golan, BayWa Venture GmbH, New Protein Solutions at BayWa AG (Germany); Prof Tilo Hühn, ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland) and Dr Stefan Pecoroni, GEA Westfalia Separator Group GmbH (Germany).
Inhouse Farming – Feed & Food Show
The “Inhouse Farming– Feed & Food Show” is the DLG’s (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft – German Agricultural Society) new platform for the agricultural and food systems of the future. Closely networked with agricultural practice, it offers technical information, perspectives, innovations and business – from feed to food. It will take place until 18 November 2023 at the trade fair grounds in Hanover as part of Agritechnica. Next year, it will be part of EuroTier, the world’s leading trade fair for animal farming technology, and will take place in Hanover from 12 to 15 November 2024.
