ValGenetics develops Ecoefficacy platform to evaluate bioinputs

The scientific team at ValGenetics has developed the Ecoefficacy platform, which intuitively selects and validates the biostimulant and/or biocontrol efficacy of substances, microorganisms, or other agents for agricultural applications. This research project is funded by the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness (IVACE).

Ecoefficacy is a digital platform that allows users to visualize data represented by color intensity (heatmap) derived from a comprehensive set of chemical, physical, biological, microbiological, and molecular analyses and tests. This application enables the comparison of products, substances, or microorganisms used in agriculture, directly highlighting agronomic advantages, viability, and the mode of action of their biostimulant or biocontrol capabilities.

The platform proposes testing agricultural products under real-world conditions, taking into account soil, temperature, humidity, and the ecosystem. It provides essential information for selecting the best product, substance, or microorganism from the earliest stages of development. Additionally, it offers valuable data to commercial teams about the agronomic benefits and modes of action of their products.

The information provided by Ecoefficacy serves a dual purpose. On one hand, it acts as technical support to facilitate product approval by regulatory bodies. On the other hand, it helps the agricultural sector better understand how to improve crop quality and profitability, thereby fostering a positive and receptive environment for the acceptance of biological products for agricultural use.
