Natural pyrethrin is an insecticide extracted from the dried flowers of Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium. Its mode of action is by contact. It is absorbed on the waxy surface of the leaves and is not translocated through the plant. It has a very rapid shock effect on larvae and adults. In addition, it presents a rapid degradation.
The product dissolves easily in water and is stable under adequate storage conditions (25ºC). The final solution of the broth must have a pH between 5 and 6 to improve efficacy and increase persistence.
The Pyrevert ™ 5% EC presentation included a critical section on the trials on different crops. Of these trials, it is worth highlighting those carried out on auxiliary fauna with already established populations. In all the trials carried out on crops such as tomato, pepper, cucurbits, etc., with Pyrevert ™ 5% EC it was shown that the product is harmless or very little harmful to the populations (reductions between 0 and 50), in line with the N classification (OILB Class). The same results have been obtained in trials to control whiteflies and aphids in citrus or green mosquitoes and cluster moths in vineyards.
