More powerful ATV engine options

Can-Am has added new and more powerful Rotax engine options to its off-road line-up of side-by-side vehicles and ATVs for 2022. The new ranges also benefit from improved traction and operator comfort.

More powerful ATV engine options

Available in the Traxter side-by-side (standard in the Maverick Trail 700), the new Rotax HD7 engine not only delivers 37% more power than the HD5 it replaces, but is also claimed to be quieter and results in less vibration. Replacing the HD8 in the Traxter, the larger Rotax HD9 delivers nearly a third more power than its predecessor.

On top of these engine upgrades, ABS is now available on some HD9 and HD10 models, which benefit from the brake and traction control system.

Advanced ATV machines

On the ATV side, the Visco-4Lok system, which provides push-button 4wd engagement, is available on all 2022 Outlander and Renegade X mr packages, as well as the Outlander XU (650-1000), XXC, XT-P and MAX Limited models.

Can-Am reckons to be the first side-by-side manufacturer to offer a 200hp engine. The new block is not the only update to the Maverick, which also benefits from the new pDrive roller clutch system for faster acceleration, the Smart-Shox adaptive suspension, new tyres, a stronger frame and a higher ground clearance.
