“These efforts pay tribute to farmers, whose tireless work inspires our mission every single day,” said Taryn Edgin, Director of Community Relations and President of the John Deere Foundation. “They also reflect the compassion and drive of John Deere employees, who create lasting impact in the communities we proudly serve around the world.”
Davenport Works Delivers Big
While the global effort was impressive, one site in particular made headlines. At Davenport Works, more than 500 employees turned a regular workday into a food packing frenzy—assembling 2,800 boxes of meals, enough to fill 2.5 semi-trucks, and setting a new record for River Bend Food Bank.
“This event was nine times larger than any previous meal packing event River Bend has hosted,” said Jenny Colvin, River Bend Vice President. “John Deere has been our number one supporter since we opened our doors in the ‘80s. They gave us seed money to start River Bend Food Bank and we continue to be grateful for their funding and volunteerism support 40 years later.”
