Weaving Machinery to launch next generation Sabre Tine Drill at LAMMA ‘20

While the new model is based on the previous version, this is far from a simple update. The new Sabre Tine has been built from the ground up to make full use of its game-changing new features including relocated depth wheels, hydraulic depth control, side-to-side contour rolling pivot, and greater trash handling capabilities. This drill will make low disturbance crop establishment simple and intuitive for all crop systems.

What does this look like in practice? It means rapid adjustment of sowing depth. It means more precise contouring, reduced fuel costs, greater resilience against wear and tear, and greater control over every movement. The Sabre Tine makes farming simpler and smarter, getting more done with less stress, and promoting superior soil health while cutting costs.

Corrosion resistant materials are used extensively to ensure the drill maintains consistent high performance throughout its long working life. The robust side-to-side pivot also ensures better durability and contouring.

Driven by an electronic metering system and a hydraulic fan, the metering device will deliver accurate sowing rates of everything from fine rape seed to large bean seeds, even with seed rates as low as 2kg/ha and with working widths of 6m wide.

With the addition of a fourth row of high clearance tines and settling area for trash behind the third row, there will less blockages than ever before, however high the amount of trash.

Depth control can be hydraulically adjusted on the move and remotely from the tractor cab, saving operators time and effort. But this isn’t just about operator comfort – the less time spent on adjustments and recalibrations is more time spent being productive. The Sabre Tine makes low disturbance farming more accessible and low-maintenance than ever before.

The Sabre Tine helps cut those “invisible” costs down while making farming a more pleasurable experience. With its extreme resistance to wear and tear, and the hydraulic fan to reduce fuel costs, over the long-term, the Sabre Tine trims back costs that cumulatively represent a significant saving.
