Farmtrac strengthens trade links between UK and India

Reesink Agriculture had been looking for an innovative tractor brand to bring more choice to the UK and in Escorts Group and Farmtrac, Reesink is confident it’s found a partner to do just that.

David Cole, managing director of Reesink, says: “In the last few years and up until the recent exceptional times – the Indian economy has been going through a dynamic period with many emerging centres of excellence, particularly in manufacturing, and that wider economic dynamism has been reflected in the ongoing success of Escorts Ltd. It’s a company with a thirst and focus on innovative and sustainable technologies to power farm equipment into the future – the production-ready all-new, all-electric FT25G electric tractor featuring a lithium-ion battery which headlined the launch in the UK is a clear example of that.”

Representing the future of agriculture, Escorts Group is one of India’s, and the world’s, top tractor manufacturers. With a presence in 62 countries, Escorts was looking for a distribution partner for its leading brand Farmtrac to fulfil the customer need in the UK market and further expand its network distributing its award-winning, comprehensive tractor range.

Nidhi Nagpal, head of international marketing, Escorts Agri Machinery, says: “Escorts and Reesink Group already enjoy a successful relationship in South Africa where Reesink runs an agricultural equipment distribution business. Expanding this relationship further, we evaluated the potential of the Farmtrac range in the UK where Reesink runs a successful turfcare and agri equipment distribution business and agreed it’s a win/win cooperation for both companies and goes in line with our shared common vision to fullfil the needs of global farmers by offering complete agri solutions.”

The launch of the innovative electric model and the rest of the cutting-edge, cost-effective and innovative nine-strong smart-looking 22-113hp tractor range drew much interest at LAMMA, including that of the UK’s consul and public information officer for the Consulate General of India.

With David concluding: “We’re not only pleased to partner with a fast growing, focused manufacturer, but as part of a global group ourselves we are excited by the future opportunity ahead that our first distribution relationship with an Indian based partner will bring. Not least through the strong value proposition that underpins Escorts final product.”
