Caterpillar M Series Ag Handler compact wheeled loaders designed to handle ag challenges

The Ag Handlers feature a Cat C3.3B DIT engine with a net power rating of 68hp, high-speed hydrostatic transmission, Caterpillar Optimized Z-Bar loader linkage, multi-pump design for hydraulic functions, standard auxiliary hydraulics, premium cab with air conditioning, application-specific tires, and adjustable response rates for powertrain and hydraulic systems.

The Ag Handlers’ engine meets EU Stage IIIB emission standards, and an operator-selected Eco-Mode is designed to provide an optimum mix of power and fuel efficiency when economy is a priority. An engine pre-cleaner protects the engine when operating in dusty environments, and the hydraulically driven demand fan ensures optimum engine cooling and quite operation, while contributing to the overall fuel efficiency. Their two-speed hydrostatic transmission provides travel speeds up to 35 km/hr, and delivers added integral braking capacity that’s enhanced with the front axle’s boosted internal braking system.

Response of the hydrostatic transmission can be adjusted to best suit the application or the operator’s preference, adding an extra measure of control. Further enhancing the Ag Handlers’ controllability are its wheel-torque-control system and “creep” system, the latter allowing the operator to combine low ground speed with high engine speed (and maximum hydraulic flow) for optimum work-tool operation.

Also adjustable via the soft-touch button keypad is the response rate for implement hydraulics, again enhancing control and promoting safe operation. The Ag Handlers’ hydraulic system operates at a relief pressure of 3,400 psi and provides a standard flow of 85 lit/min), ensuring ample power for the most demanding tasks. The high-flow system delivers 130 lit/min to efficiently power hydro-mechanical work tools, such as silage defacers, bale grabs, and grapple buckets. Available couplers include a universal Skid Steer Loader interface or an ISO horizontal pin interface. For overall hydraulic efficiency, the loaders feature dedicated hydraulic pumps for the implement, steering, and propel systems, allowing the machine to handle simultaneous lift, steer, and drive functions with no compromise in power or speed.

Complementing the hydraulic power and adding to the operator’s control of the machine is the patented optimized Z-Bar loader-linkage system, that combines high breakout forces with parallel lift throughout the working cycle, allowing for both aggressive digging and for confident handling of loads with forks. Linkage “kick-outs” further allow adjusting the loaders to best suit the application.

Operator comfort is high on the list of the Ag Handlers’ premium features, including a roomy cab with standard heating and air-conditioning for all-season comfort, low-effort joystick controllers, fully adjustable/heated suspension seat, and ride-control to smooth operation in rutted fields. Safety considerations include designed-in, all-around visibility from the operator’s seat, LED work lights, and a beacon that promotes added machine visibility when travelling site to site.
